Dear Thespians, that was another great evening with DUET! What an impressing and convincing performance by Ms Lüttgens! But, anyway, everyone on stage (and behind) contributed to a very inspiring show. Thanks to all of you. I'm looking forward to next year's production.  Best regards  Michael S.  05/02/2026, 22:25

Hello DUET team, I attended the production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time yesterday, and I just wanted to say thank you all for the production. It was actually my first time seeing a stage play in person, so I wasn't sure if it's appropriate to write, but I'm genuinely moved by the play and I'm grateful I got to be in the audience.
I especially want to appreciate Emily, who played Christopher. She made Christopher feel so real and specific. I could really see Christopher feeling totally overwhelmed by sensory overload in the train station, who had a different world that others didn't always understand. As a neurodivergent person I related deeply. The small details such as the fidgeting, the blinking, the head movement while speaking felt thoughtful and consistent. I even found tears in my eyes multiple times because of the protagonist's helplessness, the difficulty to understand "normal" world, and his deep and pure kindness.
I also loved how much every character contributed to the emotional rhythm of the story. Ed felt truly frightening at times when he lashed out; the line delivery of Judy (and the other roles Victoria played) was outstanding and so immersive; Siobhan felt so vibrant and steady, and I could feel how much she cared for Christopher; when Ilva as the policewoman asked Ed out, I felt safe for Christopher, and when she shouted at Judy, I was also fully absorbed; Jan was so lively and animated it was enjoyable to see him on stage; somehow I thought Roger was a nice guy at first lol, but when he was about to hit Christopher, it really made my heart tighten. I have likely left someone unmentioned, I'm not a memory man like Christopher sadly.
Thank you again for the hard work behind every minute on stage. When Christopher asked, "Does that mean I can do anything", I was nodding so hard in the dark with tears in my eyes. With the enthusiasm and passion you all have, I believe that line applies to you too, that you can do anything as well.
Finally, I want to thank Michael as well, if it weren't for him I wouldn't have known about this production. It was a truly enjoyable and awesome experience. with sincere appreciation,  Yonghao

Hi Uli, Nicole, as well as the whole DUET cast,
Congratulations once again on the superb performance of the play last night. We all enjoyed an extremely entertaining evening and appreciate the hard work everyone put in to make it a success. All the actors did a very good job, but special praise should go to Emily for her portrayal of the main character, Victoria for taking over the roles of a fellow actress at the last moment and Sebastian for his clever video projections.  Best wishes and good luck with the remaining performances,
Alan

Rudolf H.

My attendance at your superb interpretation is purely due to the well-written report in the Friday- copy of the conservative local paper RP!

Emily captured the character of Christopher magnificently in the multitude of behavioural parallels to divergent-behaviour-patterns found in Asperg - syndrom: Having met Emily post-performance, this actress is far from shying personal contact: the brilliant transformation of avoiding eye-ontact, fear of uncontrollable mass-gatherings in panick and aggression or shut-down were convincingly performed, hardly ever diverging from the narrow path of arrogant ridicule or stupidly failed imitation of cliches!.

Christopher's "alter ego" rattled out her well pronounced quotes from the original drama at maschine-gun - like speed, but she never left the additional range as Christopher's assistant supervisor!

The use of the beamer to visualize mime on stage is a clever device!

.... clearly did the audiences' four curtain-calls interfere with the gimmick of "Christophers detailled explanation of pythagoras" to follow, but the viewers were again confronted with the questionable tolerance towards people whose perception of reality  is divergent from the majorities' ... I too, felt the urge to look at my wristwatch ... like your vicar did.

Do you run a list for future notifications? I'd appreciate becoming an addition to your "newsletter"
