BLOOD BROTHERS

A woman expecting twins agrees to give one of them away to a woman who cannot have children. Now superstition has it that twins separated at birth must never find out who they are or they will die, but then that is just an old wives' tale. However, the different social backgrounds the boys grow up in and their feelings for the same girl bring about a very twisted development towards the final reckoning...
DUET's performance was Willy Russell's PLAY, not his musical version that you may have heard of.
Performances were from February 5 (Tuesday) to February 8 (Friday), 2008, commencing 7.30 pm every night.at SG-Aula as usual, Geibelstr. 41, Duisburg-Neudorf
A chorus starts the play...
Two narrators take us through it.

Once Eddie has met Mickey, the two....

Mickey's brother Sammy has weird play ideas...
... and some play ideas backfire.

Mrs. Johnstone, alleinerziehende 7fache Mutter und schon wieder schwanger mit Zwillingen, lässt sich überreden, nach der Geburt eins der Babys der reichen, aber kinderlosen Mrs Lyons zu überlassen. Die Zwillinge dürfen sich niemals als Brüder kennenlernen, sonst droht ihnen angeblich Unheil. In ihren unterschiedlichen Familien wachsen die beiden sehr verschieden auf. Im Alter von 7 Jahren lernt Mickey seinen Bruder Edward zufällig und unwissentlich kennen. Mrs Lyons bewegt daraufhin ihren Mann zum Umzug, doch die Jungen begegnen einander trotzdem bald wieder, und immer wieder verzahnen sich ihre Schicksale, bis sich eines Tages die Wahrheit nicht mehr verheimlichen lässt....

And he has to take the blame for Sammy!
Mother comes to see him in prison.
"You and Eddie Lyons."
"Friends, wasn't it?"
Police come in.
"He's your brother!"
Now both are dead.
